What we don't fund

 
We will not fund:
• Non UK-registered charities
• Organisations with an annual turnover of over £10m  (charities working in textiles with an annual turnover of over £10m, wishing to make an application, are requested to contact the Foundation)
• Non-capital costs i.e. running costs, salary costs
• Organisations that have received a grant from us in the last five years 
• Heritage projects (other than textiles)
• Environment projects
• Arts and education projects are unlikely to be funded unless they are predominantly focused on disadvantaged young people, the elderly or the disabled.
• Projects that do not fit in with one of our programme areas
• Individuals
• General or marketing appeals
• Educational establishments (other than schools specifically for disabled children, children with SEN etc)
• Grant-makers
• Overseas work/projects
• Medical research or equipment
• Political, industrial, or commercial appeals
• Relief of state aid or reduction of support from public funds
• Events
• The Foundation does not support appeals from any organisation where the money will be used for religious purposes, or projects which promote a particular religion.

For the Conservation Bursaries and Fellowships, we will not fund applications relating to the natural environment.
