From that date, the wealth of the Company has rested largely in property, most of it in the City of London.

The Company does not engage in property development itself but lets its properties on long building leases. It has nevertheless always been proud to be associated with high-quality or innovative development.

Fountain House (1954-8, designed by W.H. Rogers) was the first building in London to be built in the form of podium and tower. Angel Court (1974-80, Fitzroy Robinson and Partners) shows pioneering use in London of prefabricated panels of Dakota marble.

The most recent development on land owned by The Clothworkers' Company is the new headquarters of Cazenove on Moorgate, designed by the award-winning Siddell Gibson Partnership and completed in 2002.

The Company's archives contain a large number of deeds and other records relating to Clothworker properties, dating back to the thirteenth century.
