Enquiries and Access
Enquiries relating to the history of the Company, its Archive and collections are normally answered by the Archivist without charge. Please address your enquiry in writing, including as much detail as you can.
For more detailed or specialist enquiries, the Archive may be consulted by bona fide scholars and researchers, by prior appointment only, at the discretion of the Company.
Please note that the Archive is a private resource and not all series are available to researchers. All records are normally closed for 30 years; those relating to individuals are closed for 100 years.
Access to other collections may also be granted at the Company’s discretion. Interested parties should apply in writing to the Archivist explaining their research.

The reproduction and publication of documents or other items from the Company’s collections is prohibited without prior permission. Please contact the Archivist for further information on acquiring images and permissions to reproduce, for which charges may apply.
