The Company maintains a small reference library for the benefit of its staff and members.

Pageant for Sir John Robinson, Clothworker Lord Mayor, printed in 1662The Company’s historic library was sadly destroyed in 1941 and thus the present Library is a modern collection of works relating to the history of London; livery companies and guilds; textiles; works by and about Clothworkers; and charities and educational bodies the Company has been connected with.

We are a library of last resort for rarer items researchers cannot find in public libraries; however, it should be noted that the Guildhall Library has a complementary and more comprehensive collection.

Details of the small number of works we will provide access to, upon written application, may be found on the English Short Titles Catalogue.
